One of the most fun events each year for the students.  They perform their half time show for audience members of parents, friends, and band students from our Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) District 2.

5:00 pm:  Parade leaves Grayling Middle SchoolParade Route:  Ogemaw St to Peninsular to Michigan Avenue to Grayling El School.

6:50 pm:  Pre-Game (perform first two tunes from Half-Time)

Half-Time:  perform 3rd tune, Special Homecoming Fun, finish the show.

Pre-Game:  Opening Set for Halftime:  walk your parents to this spot.  We will play Fight Song and Star Spangled Banner with your parents next to you.  Walk off the field with your parents.

We set aside an evening at one football game where we honor the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of the football team, cheerleaders, and the band.  

Please be in the southwest corner of the track to meet up with your student.

Each section of the HS Band dresses up in costume to a theme set by each section.  A "competition" for the best section unity and best individual costume are very important with this activity.  The importance does not stop there.  There are several performances throughout the day, all with special meaning:

• Grayling Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  For the patients and staff.

• Mercy Manor Nursing Home.  For their patients and staff.  

• Grayling Elementary School Fifth Grade.  All 5th Grade students take Band in Grayling.  This is the first time they see a band and can find the instrument they play!

• The 1:00 pm Grayling Elementary School Parade.  The band leads all of the Grayling Elementary Students from Michigan Avenue to downtown Grayling.  

• The 1:40 pm Grayling Middle School Assembly Performance for the end of October Testing Month!

                            We will stop for food at McDonalds of East Jordan

3:00 pm         Assist with set-up/Registration Set-Up

3:30 pm         Registration Begins

4:00 pm         Auditions Begin:  first come, first served

7:30 pm         Approximate time of departure

We will stop for shakes at Burger King of Charlevoix on the way home

9:00 pm         Arrival at Grayling High School

UNIFORM:  Dress nice

There is a fee of $5.00 that will be collected at Charlevoix HS for your audition.

This High School Honors Band is designed to provide an Honors Band experience to students that fear the audition process of our MSBOA District 2 Honors Band, for students of the Lake Michigan Conference to work together as a unified band, to provide a one day experience in an honors band.  2014 was the first year of this event

Noon              Full Band rehearsal continues (with one 10 minute break)
