High School Band students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities:  Marching Band, Concert Band, Pep Band, Solo and Ensemble, Jazz Band, Honors Band. Classes meet each day for 70 minutes at Grayling High School.

 

Eighth Grade Band students have the opportunity to participate in:  one marching band/football experience, concert band, solo and ensemble. Skills development will be listed on the pacing guide for that grade level. Classes meet each day for 56 minutes at Grayling Middle School.

 

Seventh Grade Band students have the opporuntity to further their performance skills to prepare them for their older years!  Classes meet each day for 56 minutes at Grayling Middle School.

 

​Sixth Grade Band students meet on alternating days for 56 minutes at Grayling Middle School.  Class is either Woodwinds/Percussion or Brass.  

We have an active parent involvement team called the GRAYLING VIKING BAND BOOSTERS!  Due to their dedication and hard work, we are able to hold our HS Marching Band Camp at Lake Superior State University, Sault Ste. Marie, among other activities in which they either provide funding or physically assist with the activity.  

Our Grayling Viking Band Program performs in our communities for the following occasions:

  • Independence Day Parade

  • Au Sable River Festival/Canoe Marathon Parade

  • Lovells Bridge Walk

  • Halloween Parade

  • Mercy Manor 

  • Grayling Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

  • Christmas Walk (small groups)
